All products are shipped for research purposes only. By placing an order you confirm that you are a qualified researcher and that all applicable laws are being followed in your jurisdiction.
This policy covers dispatch, delivery, and returns for orders placed on vantabiochem.com and accepted by VantaBioChem LLC. It forms part of the Terms of Sale & Service and is governed by the law of Utah. Where this policy and the Terms differ, the Terms control. This page is about parcels; what is inside them is described on the product record and in the Research Use Only Covenant.
1. Order Processing
Checkout takes guests. An account is optional, and it stores your order history and nothing you have not already given us to fill the order.
Payment is by peer-to-peer transfer services (as listed at checkout). You send the transfer out of band, and the order stays pending until we confirm it. Payment is due within 48 hours of the order being placed. We may cancel an order that is not paid inside that window and release the stock.
We dispatch Monday through Friday. Orders placed before 2 PM local time ship the same business day. Anything placed after the cutoff, or on a non-dispatch day, ships on the next dispatch day. For transfer payments the clock starts when we confirm the payment, not when the order was placed.
Stock, prices, and discounts shown at the time you order are the ones that apply to that order.
Labels are bought through Shippo. The shipped notice sends on the carrier's first physical scan of the parcel. It does not send when we buy a label and it does not send when a tracking number is saved to the order. A delivered notice sends on the carrier's delivery scan. Until the first scan, the order status link is the place to check. Transactional mail about an open order is sent through Resend and is not something you can opt out of while the order is open.
Transit times shown at checkout are carrier estimates. They are not guarantees, and we do not guarantee a delivery date.
2. Where We Ship
We ship within the United States. We do not ship outside the United States.
Restricted destinations are published here together with the reason for each restriction, and at present this policy lists none within the United States. Enforcement happens at checkout rather than after the fact: a restricted address is blocked by the address validator when you enter it, with a message explaining the block. We will not take payment for an order to a destination we will not ship to and then cancel it.
You represent that you may lawfully receive the order at the address you give us. We do not publish conclusions about the law where you are, and nothing on this page is advice about it.
Where an order is shipped outside the United States by separate agreement, import documentation, duties, taxes, licences, and certifications are yours to obtain and to pay for. Delay, storage, seizure, or return arising from documentation you supplied is not covered by the replacement remedy in this document.
3. Services and Rates
Services and rates at checkout: Standard $9.99 (free on orders $100+), Priority $17.99, Express $29.99. Standard shipping is free on orders of $100 or more. The rate you are charged is the rate shown at checkout for the service you pick.
Rates are quoted live through Shippo against the weight of the parcel. We do not negotiate carrier rates and we do not add a handling charge on top of the rate shown.
The carrier is not our agent. Picking a service on our checkout does not make the carrier ours, and we are not liable for carrier delay, misrouting, or any other act or omission of the carrier once the parcel is in its hands. Service names are the carrier's own and describe the carrier's target, not a promise from us.
4. Title and Risk of Loss
Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier takes physical possession of the parcel from us. From that point the parcel is at your risk in transit.
That rule decides who bears a loss in transit. The replacement remedy in the section on damaged or incorrect shipments, and the trace process in the section on lost and undelivered parcels, are promises we make on top of that rule and on the terms stated in those sections.
5. Handling and Storage After Delivery
Storage conditions for each item are listed on its product record.
Once the parcel is delivered, the conditions it is held in are yours to manage. We are not liable for loss, degradation, or any change in an item arising from handling, storage, or transport after delivery.
Solvent choice, volumes, and working concentrations are determined by the receiving laboratory under its own validated protocol. We do not publish or advise on preparation.
6. Packaging
Orders ship sealed. The outer packaging is plain and unbranded, and the outer label carries the delivery address, the return address, and the carrier's routing data.
Each item carries its own label. The label states that the material is supplied for in vitro laboratory research use only and not for use in humans or animals. What we ship is not supplied as a drug, a dietary supplement, a food, a cosmetic, or a medical device.
Open the outer packaging over a clear surface and keep it until any claim on the shipment is closed. The section on damaged or incorrect shipments explains why we ask for it.
7. Signature on Delivery
Some carrier services carry a signature requirement, and we may add one to a shipment at our discretion. Where a signature is required, the carrier will not release the parcel without one, and a missed delivery follows the carrier's own reattempt and hold rules.
A signature is the carrier's record that the parcel was handed over. It does not change the point at which risk passed, which is set out in the section on title and risk of loss.
Where no signature is required, the carrier may leave the parcel at the address. A parcel the carrier records as left at the address you gave us is delivered for the purposes of this document.
Confirming that you are at least 21 is part of checkout and is stored with the order. It is not a carrier instruction, and the carrier does not check it at the door.
8. Address Accuracy
You supply the delivery address, and we ship to the address on the order as you entered it.
Check the address before you pay. If it is wrong, tell us at support@vantabiochem.com before dispatch and we will correct it at no charge. Once the label is bought and the parcel is with the carrier, we cannot change the address.
A parcel returned to us as undeliverable because the address was wrong, incomplete, or refused is reshipped at your cost. You pay the new shipping charge before it goes out. If you would rather not have it reshipped, we refund what you paid for the goods, less the original shipping charge and any charge the carrier billed us for the return leg.
Delay caused by an address we could not deliver to is not carrier delay and is not covered by the remedies in this document.
9. Damaged or Incorrect Shipments
If a shipment arrives damaged, or if what arrived is not what the order says, tell us within 48 hours of delivery at support@vantabiochem.com. Where the returns policy stated in the section on returns allows a longer reporting period, the longer period governs and we will treat a claim opened inside it as timely.
A claim needs your order number, photographs of the outer packaging in the condition it arrived in, photographs of the contents as you found them, and a photograph of the item label. Hold the outer packaging and the item until the claim is closed, because the carrier may want to inspect or collect them.
If we accept the claim we send a replacement of the affected item. If a replacement is not available we refund what you paid for that item together with the shipping charge attributable to it. That replacement, or that refund where we cannot replace, is your exclusive remedy for a damaged or incorrect shipment.
Our total liability for any shipment is capped at what you paid for that order, including shipping charges. Nothing in this document limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Returns
Stated policy: Replacements for damaged or incorrect shipments only, reported within 7 days of delivery.
That policy is the whole of it, and here is what it means in practice.
- Returnable: an item we sent damaged or incorrect, once we have accepted a claim under the section on damaged or incorrect shipments and issued a return authorization
- Condition: sealed, in the state it arrived in, in the outer packaging it arrived in
- Return shipping on an accepted claim: ours, on a label we send you
- Return shipping on a reship after an address error or a refused delivery: yours, as set out in the section on address accuracy
- Not returnable: anything else
Do not send anything back before we authorize it. An unauthorized return is not accepted, is not credited, and is not returned to you at our cost.
Sealed research material that has left our control cannot be returned to stock. Once a parcel is out of our hands we cannot verify that what comes back is unaltered, unopened, and held as it left us, so it cannot re-enter the catalog. That is a supply-chain integrity rule about custody of the parcel, and it is not a statement about the material.
Outside the replacement remedy set out in the section on damaged or incorrect shipments, orders are final. We do not accept returns for change of mind, for a change in your requirements, or because an item was ordered in error.
11. Lost and Undelivered Parcels
If the carrier has recorded no scan for 5 days, tell us at support@vantabiochem.com with your order number. We open the trace with the carrier through Shippo. You do not have to open it yourself, and we will not ask you to.
There are three ways a trace can end: the carrier delivers the parcel, the carrier locates it and sends it back to us, or the carrier closes the file as lost. We tell you the outcome.
If the carrier pays a claim on the shipment, that recovery goes to you, as a replacement or as a refund, whichever you pick. If the carrier does not pay, the loss falls where the section on title and risk of loss places it, and replacing the order is not something we are obliged to do. The trace runs either way.
We will not replace a parcel that the carrier records as delivered to the address on your order, and we will not reship to a new address while a trace is still open.
12. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy from time to time, and the version above is the current one. A change does not apply to an order we accepted before the change. The version in force when we accepted your order governs that order.
